Located all down the east cost, round to the South West of the Island, from Las Palmas (the capital) down to Anfi Tauro, which is located South West, with the exeption of one, which is located inland at San Bartoleme. Having such a wide selection to choose from, you not only have the choice of course to play on, but also the conditions in which you play, as the temperature can vary a few degrees from North to South, with the North being in general 2 or 3 degrees cooler than the South, you also have a slight breeze on the East coast between Las Palmas and Maspalomas.
Not only the road between Puerto de Mogan, and Pueblo de Mogan is receiving a face lift. Work has started on painting the outside of the quaint old properties in the village, with all bright colours being used.
On the run up to the main festivities of Pueblo de Mogan in June, the local council have decided that many of the properties need a face lift or freshen up old paint work.
With visitors coming from all over the Island for the famous fiesta, this is already a very special and important village, but is becoming quite a tourist attraction as well, not just a village to drive through to get to the mountains, but a place to stop and wonder round its quaint town square, and take in the odd cup of coffee or lunch, boasting 3 of the top 20 restaurants on the Island, or why not stay at the villages only B&B for a longer period.
Not so long ago, but pre-1985, many villages hade their houses painted bright colours for a reason, being that Ladies had no rights, or very few of them had any kind of education, so the only way, they could direct any one to their house, was to say it was a certain colour, along a certain street. Now they are painting them bright colours for cosmetic reasons only.
